Life Design: P Rajeevan Centre for Career Development is a pioneering Career Guidance and Development Centre founded by P Rajeevan, a renowned career practitioner in Kerala with over 33 years of expertise in career counselling, employability development, and policy-making in career guidance.
Our mission is to empower individuals to design meaningful careers through scientifically proven methods, professional counselling, and global best practices. We aim to transform career development in Kerala by blending research, innovation, and practical solutions.
With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, P Rajeevan has been a pioneering force in career guidance and employability development in Kerala. Retiring as the State Vocational Guidance Officer from the Government of Kerala, he transitioned into a global role as the South India Representative of the Asia Pacific Career Development Association (APCDA), headquartered in Maryland, USA. This position offered him a unique vantage point to study emerging global career trends and integrate international best practices into local frameworks.
Many students and professionals feel confused about what path to take. Career counseling provides structured guidance based on personal interests, skills, and market trends.
It gives accurate information about courses, colleges, job opportunities, scholarships, and emerging career fields so that choices are practical, not random.
Through assessments and discussions, individuals learn their strengths, weaknesses, and aptitudes, which helps them align careers with their personality.
Many people waste years in unsuitable courses or jobs. Counseling prevents mismatches and saves time, money, and effort.
The job market is dynamic, and career counseling helps people adapt, reskill, or switch careers when required.
When people understand their options and capabilities, they gain the confidence to pursue their goals effectively.
Career counseling is not only for students; it supports working professionals, career changers, and those planning retirement transitions.
Rajeevan’s visionary leadership led to the conceptualization and establishment of India’s first fully government-controlled Career Development Centre. As the Founding Manager, he steered the centre for eight transformative years, designing and delivering career guidance services that met global standards. His groundbreaking work earned him the Chief Minister’s Award for Innovations in Public Policy, a testament to his impact on public service.
Following this success, nine additional centres were launched across Kerala, democratizing access to scientific career guidance. Thousands of students benefited, gaining admission to premier institutions in India and abroad.
His personal counseling sessions have guided over 18,000 individuals, and his flagship initiative, “Dhanus”, empowered first-year degree students with postgraduate preparation and holistic personality development.
Recognizing his expertise, the Government of Kerala entrusted him to prepare the draft of the state’s first Career Policy. He also led the digitization process of career information, creating a comprehensive and accessible knowledge base for students and professionals alike.
His strategic role in organizing Kerala’s State Job Fair marked another milestone in connecting jobseekers with opportunities.
P Rajeevan has conducted over 3,000 career education sessions in various institutions, reaching more than 3,00,000 students. His career-related articles have appeared in leading newspapers.
He has administered and interpreted thousands of psychometric assessments, helping individuals discover their strengths and aspirations.
He has extensively trained personnel from the National Employment Service Department, equipping them with skills in career counseling, assessment, and theory application. His deep understanding of career development theories and their practical implementation has made him a trusted mentor and strategist.
P Rajeevan continues to study global trends and adapt them to Kerala’s evolving landscape. His mission is clear: to strengthen human resource planning through innovative, research-based, and globally relevant career development initiatives. His work remains rooted in empowering individuals, building institutional excellence, and shaping a future-ready workforce.
